National telecommunication services provider Sri Lanka Telecom & Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel in partnership with Derana, conducting ‘SLT Digital Aurudu’ to celebrate this year’s New Year festival.

SLT Customer Club Gampaha together with staff of SLT Regional Office Gampaha, distributed essential food items for some families in Gampaha Divisional Secretariat.

Especially these families were not able to get provided their daily needs due to the nationwide curfew to combat the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic.

Sri Lanka Telecom conducted a CSR programme for self-quarantined prisoners, during COVID-19 virus pandemic.

To prevent transmitting Corona virus within the prisoners, the Government and the Department of Prisons have been taken steps to get self-quarantined all the prisoners with their fullest support.

Mr. Bandara Herath, a Senior Assistant Engineer of Sri Lanka Telecom has invented a portable ventilator which can be used for patients in ICUs.

This equipment is already handed over to Kandy teaching hospital. It was accepted by the doctors and he has received a request for two more ventilators with few improvements.

Sri Lanka Telecom PLC Group released its financial results for the three months ended 31^st March 2020.

The Total revenue for the quarter recorded Rs.22.1 Bn, which is 3.8% growth compared to the same period in 2019, Rs.21.3 Bn.

The Chairman, Board of Directors, representatives of the Management and Unions of Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) and Mobitel handed over a cheque to the value of Rs. 50 million to His Excellency Gotabaya Rajapaksa , President of Sri Lanka recently at the Presidential Secretariat as a donation to the COVID-19 Health and Social Security Fund. 

On the issue of the attempted cyber-attack on SLT's internal systems, SLT wishes to clarify the current situation to all its customers. The following is the official communique released by the Management.

SLT has already communicated to our customers that we have detected an attempt of a cyber-attack which has only affected our few internal IT systems.

Contributing to the Government of Sri Lanka’s objective of promoting the retail operations in the country, Lanka Sathosa Limited partnered with Sri Lanka Telecom to create an online retail store on behalf of the largest state owned retail network.

SLT has strengthened its partnership as the official ICT Service Provider of the Sri Dalada Maligawa ,Kandy for the 8^th consecutive  year.

An agreement was signed recently to provide multitude of ICT solutions including Broad band services, PEO TV and voice communication via high speed SLT Fibre technology to the Maligawa . These services will be provided free of charge and will facilitate the media centre of Dalanda Maligawa to undertake the broadcasting and sharing of cultural and religious information with the public.
