The Chairman, Board of Directors, representatives of the Management and Unions of Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) and Mobitel handed over a cheque to the value of Rs. 50 million to His Excellency Gotabaya Rajapaksa , President of Sri Lanka recently at the Presidential Secretariat as a donation to the COVID-19 Health and Social Security Fund. 

On the issue of the attempted cyber-attack on SLT's internal systems, SLT wishes to clarify the current situation to all its customers. The following is the official communique released by the Management.

SLT has already communicated to our customers that we have detected an attempt of a cyber-attack which has only affected our few internal IT systems.

Sri Lanka Telecom - the national ICT service provider and Epic Technology Group – one of the leading digital technology solution providers in the region, proudly launched the Helaviru Digital Economic Center Online Platform on the 31^st July 2020. Helaviru Agro-produce & Commodities Trading Platform is a Cloud-based Digital Marketplace that facilitates trading activities (buying & selling) of Agriculture and Farm Produce and Commodities among diverse stakeholders on a seamlessly connected supply chain.

Contributing to the Government of Sri Lanka’s objective of promoting the retail operations in the country, Lanka Sathosa Limited partnered with Sri Lanka Telecom to create an online retail store on behalf of the largest state owned retail network.

SLT has strengthened its partnership as the official ICT Service Provider of the Sri Dalada Maligawa ,Kandy for the 8^th consecutive  year.

An agreement was signed recently to provide multitude of ICT solutions including Broad band services, PEO TV and voice communication via high speed SLT Fibre technology to the Maligawa . These services will be provided free of charge and will facilitate the media centre of Dalanda Maligawa to undertake the broadcasting and sharing of cultural and religious information with the public.

Sri Lanka Telecom PLC and SLT Mobitel joining hands with “Manusath Derana “currently carrying out the “SMILE WITHIN” one million masks donation and awareness campaign helping to make Sri Lanka a much safer place to return to normalcy. This program is implemented as a public service at Corona pandemic while the World Health Organization recommended to wear masks.

The campaign started in Colombo and continued in public places around the country including North and East provinces.

Sri Lanka Telecom, the National Telecommunication Service provider, announced its partnership with AL Kuppiya, the e-learning platform catering for Advanced Level students, by introducing special data bundles for SLT Broadband customers. The partnership agreement was signed with Crayons Education (Pvt) Ltd. the online educational service provider that hosts the programme.

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), the National ICT solutions & Digital services provider signed an agreement with Sri Lanka Port Authority (SLPA) to provide communication services to SLPA. The agreement between the two companies was signed at the SLPA premises in Colombo. On behalf of SLPA; Chairman- General Daya Ratnayake, Managing Director - Mr. W.S. Weeraman, and on behalf of SLT, CEO -Mr. Kiththi Perera, Chief Enterprise & Wholesale Officer - Mr. Janaka Abeysinghe signed the agreement as the authorized signatories.

Sri Lanka Telecom, the National ICT Solutions Provider in Sri Lanka won the Gold award at the prestigious JASTECA, 5S Akimoto Awards Ceremony 2019. Sri Lanka Telecom, Outside Plant Maintenance Centre (OPMC) Kurunegala won this award under medium category. This awards ceremony was held at Hotel Galadari, Colombo and this was conducted for the 24^th consecutive year.
