SLT together with University of Moratuwa & IESL presents Sri Lanka’s first dedicated IoT competition “SLIOT Challenge”

The Sri Lanka Telecom Group, has partnered with the University of Moratuwa and the Institution of Engineers of Sri Lanka (IESL) to present the SLIOT Challenge

This Challenge seeks to encourage the technological sector and the many innovative and entrepreneurial minds in the country to look beyond the present and take Sri Lanka into the future.

‎ICT Legal pioneer Jayantha Fernando Honored with Lifetime Award at SLT Zero One Awards

Mr Jayantha Fernando is an Internet Law and policy expert who has pioneered ICT Legal policy reform and helped the establishment of Internet governance processes in Sri Lanka. He was recently recognized with a Lifetime Award at the inaugural SLT Zero One Awards, along with Prof Abhaya Induruwa (Internet Pioneer) and Kris Canekeratne of Virtusa, at a ceremony held in Colombo.

Altair and SLT Redefine Luxury Living with 100Mbps Fiber Broadband and Smart Services

Sri Lanka Telecom PLC and Indocean Developers (Pvt) Limited recently entered into an agreement that will redefine the experience of luxury living. Through this agreement SLT’s high speed broadband services up to the speed of 100Mbps and high definition television content through its IPTV platform will be provided over Optical Fibre to all residents of this landmark property.

SLT announced the completion of its partnered project South East Asia-Middle East-Western Europe-5 (SEA-ME-WE 5 ) undersea submarine cable system expecting to increase by tenfold its international bandwidth capacity for the future requirements of the country as well as the South Asian region. With this global initiative, SLT will further strengthen its position as the only ICT solutions provider in the country having multiple global connectivity options with a gigantic bandwidth capacity that is adequate to cater to the requirements for more than 25 years ahead.

SLT Fibre Broadband powers ICBT e-Sports gamerfest’17

Sri Lanka Telecom has powered ICBT e-Sports gamerfest’17 with its next generation fibre optic broadband - and it’s set to be the most reliable broadband connection for online and real-time gaming. Recently concluded this e-Sports championship challenged all hard-core gaming teams and it was really a successful event with the participation of a large number of young e-Gaming communities. Gamers were extremely happy with the Ultra-High Speed SLT Fibre Broadband connection which has lowest ping rate and highest reliability.

SLT Training Centre holds Award Ceremony for 9th batch of BTEC HND Diploma holders.

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) Training Centre held its annual Award Ceremony for its 9th batch of BTEC HND Diploma holders at the BMICH Colombo on Wednesday, 30th August 2017. Prof. Ajantha Dharmasiri, Director and the Chairman of the Board of Management, PIM and the President of IPM Sri Lanka, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Mr. P.G. Kumarasinghe Sirisena, the Chairman of SLT, Ms. L.P.I.M. Hissalle, the Chief Human Resource Officer of SLT, Ms. M. De S.K.
