SLT adjudged as the best Fixed line & CDMA telecom service provider of the year at People’s Awards 2011.

Sri Lanka Telecom, the nation’s only truly integrated telecommunication service provider was adjudged as the “People’s Fixed line / CDMA Telecom Service provider of the Year” at the SLIM-Nielsen People’s Awards 2011 held last week at the Water’s Edge, Battaramulla.

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), the integrated telecommunication solutions provider announced its role as the Strategic Partner of the 2011 CIMA Business Leaders’ Summit. Mr. Greg Young, Chief Executive Officer of SLT handed over the sponsorship cheque to Mr. Bradley Emerson, Regional Director - South Asia & Middle East, CIMA, at an official ceremony held at the SLT premises recently.

Sri Lanka Telecom  sponsored Logos Hope, the world’s largest floating book fair, on its visit to Sri Lanka. With the vision of sharing knowledge, help and hope with the people of the world, the ship carried on board approximately 6000 different titles on a wide variety of subjects including parenting and relationships, leadership, travel, spiritual as well as a profusion of books for children of all ages. Most of these books were obtained from UK and US and were sold at amazingly affordable prices providing valuable knowledge and insight for all.

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), the national telecom service provider, in collaboration with the Asia Foundation, conducted a book distribution programme at the Viharamahadevi Balika Vidyalaya, Colombo 08 to commemorate Children’s Day. The books were distributed to children studying in years 1 to 11, and covered a diverse range of subjects such as English Language, Geography, Science, History, Mathematics, General Knowledge, Sports, story books etc.

As a leading communication service provider in the country SLT group have clearly understood our duty as well the great opportunity to develop ICT infrastructure to enable digital government, e-commerce and digital entertainment”.

SLT is the first operator to implement a “drive-through” bill payment facility, which was introduced with the aim of increasing customer convenience and adding value to customers’ overall experience with SLT.
