SLT donates computer lab to Embilipitiya Junior Secondary School

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) donated a computer lab to the Embilipitiya Junior Secondary School in one of the company’s latest CSR efforts. The programme was initiated and organised by the Sri Lanka Telecom Havelock Town Welfare Society. The computer lab consists of four brand new computers together with computer tables and chairs and also wired and wi-fi connectivity through ADSL technology, providing the school with access to SLT’s high speed, uninterrupted internet facility.

Annual report vision awards

SLT triumphed at the 2010/11 Vision Awards Annual Report Competition to win a Gold Award in the Telecommunications Sector. Organised by the League of American Communication Professionals (LACP), SLT was also placed 19th overall in the Top 100 Worldwide Rank of this much coveted global annual report competition. SLT is the first listed Sri Lankan company to be in the ‘top 20’ of the Global LACP Vision Awards.

Sri Lanka Telecom extends CSR activities to orphanages around the country

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) conducted its latest CSR activity at SOS Children’s Village, Piliyandala, which is home to approximately 150 children. SOS Children’s Village consists of 16 separate houses in which resides approximately 10 children with a ‘mothers’ who look after the children. Employees from all groups of the organization were invited to participate in the programme, and were divided into separate teams, with each team visiting one house.
