In 2014 SLT proudly announced its partnership with 15 international telecommunication operators representing 17 countries, in the formation of a consortium in order to build the South East Asia - Middle East - Western Europe 5 (SEA-ME-WE 5) state-of-the-art undersea cable system. The 1^st of February 2016 marked the arrival of this multi-regional superhighway in Sri Lanka by the opening of the - cable-landing station building for the SEA-ME-WE 5 in Matara.

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) recently signed agreements with six major ICT equipment suppliers to enhance experience for its valued customers. The company partnered with Softlogic Retail (Pvt) Ltd., SALA Enterprises, Esquire Telecom (Pvt) Ltd., Sense Foreign Trade, Siyol International Pvt Ltd. and Solutioncity (Pvt) Ltd. for the period 2016/2017.

Wednesday, 23^rd March 2016: Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), the national ICT solutions provider in the country announced the company’s partnership with the government’s Virusara Varaprasada initiative that seeks to pay tribute to war heroes and their families for the great sacrifice that they have made on behalf of the nation. The announcement was made at a press conference organized by SLT at its Head Office premises last Wednesday.
