SLT embarks on a new CSR initiative supporting “Divi Neguma” national program

Sri Lanka Telecom, embarked on its latest CSR initiative to plant trees in parallel to the Divi Neguma Project initiated by the Government of Sri Lanka. The company’s tree planting project commenced on Friday, 11th October at auspicious time at SLT Welikada premises. The tree planting ceremony was attended by GCEO of SLT, Lalith De Silva and other SLT Officers. The company has plans to continue this project into the near future – it has pledged to plant a medicinal plant in a school each time a new triple play customer is added to its customer database.

SLT Connects CHOGM 2013

ICT Super Highway empowers Colombo-Katunayake Expressway in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) is proud to announce that the company has been chosen to provide consultancy services as well as oversee and inspect the Colombo-Katunayake Expressway (CKE) project’s communication infrastructure and issue an independent certification for fiber optic installation to assure its capacity to many terra bytes per second along the 25.8 km long Expressway. This has been awarded to SLT after the company successfully completed the laying of 117 kms of optical fibre cable along the Southern Expressway to facilitate the information superhighway of the country.

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), the national ICT service provider successfully demonstrated its 4G LTE fixed broadband technology at a ceremony held at the Dr. N. M. Perera Memorial Hall in Ruwanwella, Kegalle recently. SLT’s 4G LTE speeds and access capabilities were demonstrated to Hon. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology and Hon. Athauda Seneviratne, Senior Minister Rural Affairs in the presence of Mr. Lalith De Silva, Group CEO of SLT and many other top officials.
