Sri Lanka Telecom is to use CDMA to broaden the horizon of rural communications

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) – Sri Lanka’s national telecommunications provider - today entered into a contract with ZTE Corporation (ZTE) of China. Under this agreement ZTE will provide state -of- the-art CDMA systems for the successful implementation of the largest CDMA network. Mr. Shuhei Anan CEO SLT signed the contract on behalf of Sri Lanka Telecom while Ms Fang Rong  represented ZTE Corporation.
SLT CEO Shuhei Anan said: “With CDMA we will be able to link up with SLT’s next generation network, to provide multiple services including the existing communication services. SLT’s CDMA service, I believe, will be an important enabler in eliminating the digital divide in the country”.
