SLT solidifies its commitment to business excellence by winning the Taiki Akimoto 5S Awards.

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), the national ICT solutions provider proved to be one of the strongest business entities when it was awarded the prestigious ‘Taiki Akimoto 5S Awards including; the Merit Award for the Service Sector-Large, Merit Award for the “Best Efforts in Public/Private Partnership”-CSR Awards 2014 categories and three Certificates of Compliance awarded to SLT Regional Offices Chilaw, Kotte & Kurunegala for the Service Sector-Small category at the recently conducted annual Taiki Akimoto Awards ceremony by the Japan Sri Lanka Technical and Cultural Association

Making an announcement with regards to the recent change in leadership at SLT, Mr. P.G. Kumarasinghe Sirisena, the Chairman of SLT stated, “Sri Lanka Telecom is the premier ICT solutions provider to the nation and plays a pivotal role in spearheading the digital revolution of our country. As a consequence of the Company’s corporate structural development and by mutual agreement, Mr. Lalith De Silva tendered his resignation from Sri Lanka Telecom PLC as Group CEO effective from 13th March 2015. SLT supports the building of an Emergency and Trauma Unit at Batticaloa Teaching Hospital.

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), the Super Platinum Sponsor of the Batticaloa Emergency and Accident Project (BEAP), re-affirmed its commitment towards the next phase of the project’s development by handing over the company’s contribution towards the project at a special ceremony held at the company’s premises recently. The mock cheque was handed over to Dr. David Young, the President of the Foundation Supporting a National Trauma Service by Mr. S.K.Lal Ranjith, the Chief Corporate Officer of SLT.

SLT commemorates Wesak in the true spirit of the season.

SLT in collaboration with ITN, Lakhanda and Adha newspaper, conducted ‘Sri Lanka Telecom – Lakhanda Sisu Dam Sariya’ program at Vishaka Vidyalaya, Colombo in keeping with the spirit of the Wesak season. Under this, a ‘Dharma Deesahnaya’ was conducted and it was telecast live on ITN and Lakhanda on the morning of 30th April 2015. Approximately 2,500,000 students were able to listen to the Dharma Deeshanaya via TV and radio.

SLT athletes win 29 medals for Sri Lanka at the first ever Indian Mercantile Masters Track & Field Championships.

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) succeeded in winning a total of 29 medals for Sri Lanka at the first ever Indian Mercantile Masters Track & Field Championships held during 8th to 10th May 2015, in Mumbai, India. With the 29 medals won by SLT, Sri Lanka secured a total of 91 medals, with the contribution of all the teams from Sri Lanka that participated in the championships.
