Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) and the Asia Foundation (TAF) renewed their long standing decade old partnership of “Spreading the wealth of knowledge” recently at the Sri Lanka Telecom Head Office premises. At this ceremony Mr. Lalith De Silva, the Group Chief Executive Officer of SLT and Mrs. Dinesha de Silva, Country Representative of the Asia Foundation exchanged the signed agreement.

SLT is proud to announce the company has recently connected Delft Island, located in the East of the Jaffna Peninsula to the country’s National ICT Backbone as one of the major post-war ICT development in the Northern Province. Delft Island has been identified by the Government of Sri Lanka (GoSL) as one of the key tourist attraction destinations as well as a key location in the country.

SLT was the proud winner of the Mercantile Athletic Championships 2014 held recently. The company has scored a total of 495 points and won by a significant margin of 250 points. SLT has been participating for this championship for many years and during the last year, managed to secure the second place and this year has succeeded in winning the first place after much commitment and preparation. Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), the premier ICT solutions provider in Sri Lanka conducted an ICT awareness workshop at Anuradhapura recently in collaboration with the Regional Chamber of Commerce, Anuradhapura in an effort to enhance the ICT literacy levels in all areas of the country. The awareness workshop was conducted for the children of the company’s small and medium sized enterprise (SME) customers in the Anuradhapura area.

Sri Lanka Telecom successfully completed another customer forum under the theme “Beyond Borders” for SME customers in the Uva Province to cater to the customers in the Nuwer Eliya and Hatton areas. The customer forum was held recently at Hotel Alpine, Nuwera Eliya, with the presence of Mr. Mahinda Dodampegamage, Mayor of Nuwera Eliya and Ms. Bodhimanna, Divisional Secretary of Nuwera Eliya. Mr. Chinthaka Wijesooriya, Chief Regional Officer / SLT and Mr. Roshan Kaluarachchi, Chief Marketing Officer / SLT and other SLT officers also attended the customer forum.
