Mr. Pandula Godakanda is a Chartered Engineer with over 29 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, including more than 24 years of service at Sri Lanka Telecom PLC. He is currently serving as Chief Risk and Security Officer of SLT-MOBITEL, providing strategic leadership in enterprise risk management, cybersecurity, information security, and organizational resilience.

Mr. Godakanda holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.Sc. Engineering) from the University of Peradeniya. He also holds a Professional Master’s Degree in Business Analytics and Digital Transformation from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand.

He is a Chartered Engineer registered with the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL) and the Engineering Council of Sri Lanka (ECSL). In addition, he is a Certified Data Protection Officer.

Mr. Godakanda possesses extensive expertise in telecommunications network planning and operations, cybersecurity, information security, business continuity management, quality management, and risk governance.

Prior to his appointment as Chief Risk and Security Officer, he served as General Manager – Information Security & Quality Management, where he was responsible for cybersecurity governance, security operations, business continuity management, compliance assurance, and ISO management system certification programmes across the SLT-MOBITEL Group.

He also serves as the Data Protection Officer of Xyntac Singapore, supporting privacy governance, regulatory compliance, and security assurance for the Group’s international business operations.

Earlier in his career, he held key leadership positions including Deputy General Manager – IP Network & IPTV Operations and Deputy General Manager – NGN Network Planning. In these roles, he contributed significantly to national telecommunications infrastructure modernization initiatives and managed critical IP/MPLS networks that support voice, broadband, enterprise connectivity, and IPTV services.

In his current capacity, he oversees enterprise-wide risk management, cybersecurity, information security, and resilience initiatives, supporting the protection of critical telecommunications infrastructure, customer trust, regulatory compliance, and sustainable business growth.

In addition, Mr. Godakanda will continue to oversee the responsibilities of General Manager – Information Security & Quality Management until a suitable successor is appointed.
