| Direct Inward Dialling
DID (Direct
Inward Dialling) allows large PABX systems the option of the
outside caller being able to directly dial an intercom or
extension number instead of being routed through a central
operator. The system supports messaging to route the calls,
and can even handle functions such as automated services.
The caller also always has the option of accessing the operator
if necessary, but with DID, the operator is no longer under
pressure to answer and transfer every single call.
LESS CALL CONGESTION, since the calls are routed more efficiently
even if the called party is not at his or her desk, a forwarding
code will allow the call to be routed to any other destination
- even another building, a mobile phone, or a voice mail system.
Improved call quality,
since the system is digital.
No physical telephone
lines will be needed to serve the total call volume.
Faster access
to your company is possible, since callers do not require
the operator every time.
Cost effectiveness
is DID's greatest advantage, since it provides voice,
data and ISDN capabilities to serve your expanding telecommunication
needs. A single DID connection can handle 30 simultaneous
calls inward.
IDD facilities can be pre-assigned
to selected extensions.
