Country’s longest cycle race SLT SpeedUp sawariya marked the finish line with style.

Sri Lanka’s longest cross-country cycle race organized by the Sri Lanka Telecom came to an end on the 29th of July in Embilipitiya. Sandun Kumara of Team SLT has been won the overall championship of the 5-days race securing the first price of Rs. 1 Million. The winning price and the trophy presented to him in the presence of the Group Chairman of Sri Lanka Telecom, Mr. Kumarasinghe Sirisena, President of the Cycling Federation of Sri Lanka (CFSL), Dr. Amal Harsha De Silva and the Group CMO of SLT Ajantha Seneviratne. Sanju Deemantha of Team Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) and C. M. Viran of Team Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) were the Overall 1st Runner-up and Overall 2nd Runner-up winners respectively winning the prices of Rs 500,000/- and 300,000/-. The women’s race; Sudarika Priyadarshani, Dinesha Dilrukshi and Sulochana Panchali of Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) secured all top three winning positions securing prices of Rs. 200,000.00/-, Rs. 150,000.00/-, Rs. 100,000.00/- respectively.

Sri Lanka Air Force Team has been won the Overall Best team award. In addition to the Overall 1st Runner-up, Sanju Deemantha of Team Sri Lanka Air Force has achieved the Overall Sprint winner, Overall Mountain winner, Best young rider positions as well.
